Hot chocolate is the ultimate hygge experience. Making your own from scratch is easier than you think, and worth the extra 5 minutes it takes to prep with simple ingredients you probably already have on hand.
1 cup almond or cashew milk (opt for a creamier brand, like Elmhurst)
1 1/2 tablespoons organic sugar
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 organic candy cane (optional)
Microwave the milk in a heat-proof measuring cup until steamy, about 1 1/2 minutes.
In a mug, add the sugar and cocoa. Pour the steamed milk into the mug and whisk until smooth.
Drip in the vanilla and serve with a candy cane.
